Pakistan’s first 500 MW eco-friendly floating solar power
plant will be set up in Lake, Sindh Provincial Energy Minister Ahmed Sheikh said on Wednesday
Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh on Wednesday installed Pakistan’s
first 500 MW environmentally friendly floating solar power plant in Kanj har
Lake, Sindh Provincial Minister said Wake up.
The feasibility study of the project, which could attract a
$400 million investment, is in its final stages as a letter of intent (LOI) was
submitted in the article, the minister said in a meeting with officials of the
power utility.
The minister hoped that Pakistan’s first solar project floating on the waters of Kanjhar Lake would start generating power within 2 years after going through the approval process.Tourism around the famous local tourist destination Kanjhar,” said Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh. lake.
The Energy Minister made the statement while talking to
officials of power companies.
Unique floating solar power plant for Pakistan that will not
only generate 500 MW of green power but also create employment opportunities in
the region.
He said Keenjhar Lake would encourage tourism and help
control load shedding.
Imtiaz Sheikh says the 500 MW eco-friendly energy project is
another achievement of the Sindh government.
In recent months, Pakistan has seen efforts to increase the
installation and deployment of solar panels. The government is working to find
a comprehensive solar scheme in the form of tax breaks and concessional loans
for customers in a bid to overcome prolonged power outages that have stifled
life in the country.
The solar program includes a short-term plan to convert
government offices to solar power. including a program to help small customers
make the switch to solar through subsidies or concessional loans.
The government also plans to scrap taxes on all solar products.
The solar program was spearheaded by the Energy Working
Group and reviewed at a recent meeting. The Prime Minister set up a task force
on solar projects with the vision of promoting sustainable and green energy.
Now, the demand is going to be catastrophic. Adjustments in monetary and energy prices as well as global commodity prices have affected consumer goods. People are saving energy consumption which is already reflected in the numbers. Non-essential imports are ‘supposedly’ regulated.
Under the
noses of NGOs. Current statistics are likely to remain under control. Falling
prices will also help. Maybe because of the flooding, something will fall. But
it won’t be as big as many predicted.
